Random Thoughts Part 1

This is Nathan blogging in today.

Is that how you say it? Blogging in? Internet slang changes so much so I am not sure.

Anyways.

Today I am going to talk to you guys about some random thoughts that I had. It might not make sense in the grand scheme of things, but we will see.

So today my random thought is going to be about what is our plan and why.

Well, our plan is to move out to the sticks, but here is some of the details of said plan.

What we want to do is to move out onto a semi-flat piece of property with at least 4 acres of flatish land that can be used to grow veggies and animals. My goal is to have at least 20 acres. Preferably more. We want to spend the least amount of money on acquiring the land as we want to be able to have some funds to build a house on it.

This is going to be our forever property.

I am probably going to die in this house.

Preferably a hundred years from now.

The house, probably trailer, that is on the property needs to be able to let us live semi-comfortable while I build the house. The reason being that it will take me a bit of time to get the house finished and I don't think I can afford to own or rent a second house while doing it.

The reason that we want the amount of land is we want to be self-sufficient. We want to grow our own food, raise our own animals, produce our own electricity. It'll take a while to acquire all that goal, but we feel that it will be worth it. We think that this will be the best lifestyle to raise our children in, and give them a better appreciation for the resources God has given us.

We have a picture of what the perfect land will be. What we want to buy. It'll be at least 80 acres, about 15 of it will be fenced well drained pasture, the rest hill and or forest. We want at least a mobile home on it with at least 3 bedrooms. I'd really like that it has a good well and septic system. I'd also  only like to spend approximately 100k for it.

That may be asking for a lot. The land may be a bit farther out of town, but we don't mind driving an extra 10 minutes if it means that we can have a piece of property that is closer to our dream land. 

Those are broad generalizations of what we want to do. The details will be what helps to make this succeed or fail. And those are lots at the moment. We do have an idea on what we need to do to make this plan succeed, but now is the time to do the research. To ask the questions.
